Nearly every tree we grind here was set out by a builder's landscape plan, which means it has a birthday sitting in a public record. Northwoods filled in between 1985 and 1995, so the silver maples along Oakdale Drive and Highland Drive are now 28 to 36 inches across the base. Indian Ridge built from 1994 through 2008 on lots barely a fifth of an acre, which puts the same size pear eight feet off a foundation. Greystone and Summerlin are mid-2000s, the era of the improved Callery cultivars and Autumn Blaze maple, still small enough to be a comfortable morning's work. Legacy Farms and Copes Crossing are 2020s, and what needs grinding there is not landscaping at all, it is eastern red cedar and whatever the old field boundary left behind.
So before pricing anything we pull the parcel and read two numbers off it: year built and lot size. That check takes two minutes and it removes most of the guesswork from a quote given over the phone.
There Is No Tree Permit in White House
The city has no standalone tree ordinance, no tree board, and it is not a Tree City USA. The things people expect to find, a removal permit or a diameter threshold or a replacement requirement, do not exist here for a tree standing in your own yard. What does exist sits in three other places.
